Mary Corene Irby

MERIDIAN —     QUITMAN – Services for Mary Corene Irby will be held Thursday, at 11 a.m., at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Terry Irby officiating. Burial will be in the Rolling Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Wright’s Funeral Home of Quitman in charge of arrangements.

    Mrs. Irby, 96, of Quitman, passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at H. C. Watkins Memorial Hospital in Quitman. She attended First Baptist Church, Stonewall. She loved to travel, church activities, cooking, gardening and spending time with her family.

    Survivors include her son, Terry K. (Jewel) Irby; daughter, Linda Irby McLendon; grandchildren: Diane (David) Langley, Lynne (Greg) Smith, Terrance (Chandra) Irby, and Tina (Michael) Baker; great-grandchildren: Caleb Langley, Ryan Irby, Eden Smith, Jesse Smith, Christa Irby and Taylor Baker; and niece, Bettye (Perry) Dew.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Irby; grandson, Sloan McLendon; father, James Mozingo; mother, Rosa Mozingo; five brothers; and, two sisters.

    Pallbearers will be David Langley, Michael Baker, Terrance Irby, Ryan Irby, Caleb Langley, Barry White and Perry Dew.

    Honorary pallbearer is Jesse Smith.

    In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude Hospital, your favorite church or charity.               Online condolences can be given at wrightsfuneral.com.

    Visitation will be today, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., at the funeral home.
