Robert Earl Rutledge

MERIDIAN —     Robert Earl Rutledge, 70, of Meridian, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2013 at home.  Robert Earl Rutledge was born in Meridian on June 11, 1943. Prior to his retirement, he was the owner of Porterfield Industries, Rutledge Window and Doors and Robert Earl Pits Stop.

    He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Hilda Colon Rutledge, his loving mother-in-law, Irma Gonzalez and his children, Lola Daletheia Matthews of Plattsville, Ala., and Curtis Earl Rutledge of Plattsville, Ala., and step-daughters, Hedy Morris of Meridian, Amy Mathews of Meridian, and Wendy Hinson of Sebring, Fla.; and his loving nieces, nephew, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

    Robert Earl will always be remembered for his love of family and friends.  He never met a “stranger!”  A “Celebration of Life” will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at 2941 Rob Sims Road, Meridian.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you donate to the cause of your choice.
