Wilma Wilkins Riddell

MERIDIAN —     Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Wright’s Funeral Home Chapel. Private burial services will take place in the Odd Fellows Cemetery.

    Wilma Wilkins Riddell, 98, passed away on Friday, June 13, 2014, at her residence in Madison. She was homemaker.

    She was born on Jan. 4, 1916, to Celia and Stuart C. Wilkins in Clarke County. She graduated from Enterprise High School and attended Gulf Park College in Gulfport, where she was an active sorority member. Mrs. Riddell was married to the late Tally D. Riddell Sr. of Quitman.

    Mrs. Riddell was a resident of Quitman for more than 60 years. She was active in her community and served as president of the Quitman Women's Club. She was a former Miss Mississippi and was a Miss Mississippi Pageant judge in subsequent pageants. Mrs. Riddell was a member of the First Baptist Church of Quitman.

    She is survived by son, Tally D. Riddell Jr. and his wife, Carol, of New Albany; daughter, Janet Riddell of Brandon; granddaughter, Courtney Kathleen Gresham and her husband, Allen, Starkville; nephew, Howell S. Wilkins Jr. and wife, Janice, of Poplarville; niece, Carolyn Ritchie of Boca Raton, Fla.

    Visitation will be held Monday, from 9:30 a.m.-11 a.m., at the funeral home.
