Patricia Ann Weaver

MERIDIAN —     Services for Patricia Ann Weaver will be held today, Tuesday, at 10:30 a.m. at Newton County Funeral Home – South Chapel with Bro. Larry Duncan officiating. Burial will be in Beat Line Cemetery with Newton County Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

    Mrs. Weaver, 77 of Conehatta, died Saturday, July 5, 2014 at her residence. She was a dedicated wife, and wonderful mother and grandmother. She loved her family very much, which was her top priority. She often hosted family gatherings in her home on special events and holidays. She was a hard worker and was a people person, often visiting with neighbors and customers at the store that she and her husband owned, Weaver's Country Store in the Beat Line Community. Honesty and integrity were two characteristics that she valued the most. She loved God and always believed in doing what was right.

    Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Carl "Jake" Weaver of Conehatta; four children: Terry Gressett and husband Larry of Conehatta; Tammy Shoemaker and husband John David of Decatur, Chris Weaver and wife Suzanne of Conehatta and Tracy Warren and husband Brent of Decatur; eight grandchildren: Brad McDill, Ashley Gressett, Johnathan Shoemaker, Megan Sistrunk, Ryan Weaver, Hayden Weaver, Makayla Weaver, and Madyson Warren; five great-grandchildren; and one brother, Donald Thomas and wife Linda of Newton.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnnie and Maudie Allgood Thomas and four brothers: Johnnie Thomas, Jr., Roger Thomas, James Thomas, and Canoy Thomas.

    Pallbearers will be John David Shoemaker, Brent Warren, Brad McDill, Johnathan Shoemaker, Ryan Weaver and Hayden Weaver. Honorary Pallbearers will be Carla Clarke, Kenny Clarke, John Blount, Randy McElhenney, Jackie Knight, Mark Killens, Rusty Barnett, and Joe Addy.
