Robert L. Drew

MERIDIAN —             Robert L. Drew passed away peacefully at his home on Friday June 27, 2014 surrounded by family. He was 82. Born in Duffee Miss., he was a resident of New Orleans, Metairie, and his last years in Covington, La.

            He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Frances Tucker Drew; son, Robert L. Drew; daughters, Donna F. Southern, Patricia K. Warner, and Kirsten N. Lind; brother, Jim Drew; sisters, Kathleen Stroup and Sharon Hedgpeth; 13 grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.   Robert is preceded in death by his father, Vester L. Drew, mother, Katherine Thaggard Drew, and brother, Danny Drew.

            Robert was an air force veteran who served in the Korean War. He was a graduate of Tulane University where he received a master’s degree in architecture. Robert was an architect at Curtis and Davis Architects for much of his career. Some of his many projects included The Royal Sonesta Hotel, The Royal Orleans Hotel, F. Edward Hebert Hospital, and the Louisiana Superdome.

            Relatives and friends are welcome to attend the Memorial Service in the Chapel of Bagnell and Son Funeral Home, 75212 Lee Road, Covington, LA 70435 on Saturday, July 5, 2014 at 12 p.m. Visitation from 10 a.m. until service time.
