Henry Griffin Hailes

MERIDIAN —     Graveside services for Henry Griffin Hailes will be today at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Dennis Coats officiating.  Burial will be in Hepzibah Cemetery. Wright's Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.  

    Mr. Hailes, 87, of Quitman died Thursday at H. C. Watkins Hospital in Quitman.

He is survived by his wife, Winifred Hailes; son, Paul Hailes and wife, Anne; and a  grandson;  Andrew Griffin Hailes.

    Mr. Hailes was a Army veteran of WWII and a recipient of the Bronze Star.  He retired from the U.S. Postal service after 30 years of service.

    He was preceded in death by his parents Judge Henry and Mary Elizabeth Hailes; sister Mae Hailes Persons; brothers Clyde Hardin Hailes and Howard Roland Hailes.

    Pallbearers will be Burt Jones, Jane Hudson, Tack Moore, Carl Murray C.J. Lafferty, Rufus Carney, and Alton Hailes

    Visitation will be today  from 12 til 2 p.m. at Wright’s Funeral Home. Friends may sign online guest register at www.wrightsfuneral.com.
