Eliese Denton Thompson

MERIDIAN —     Services for Eliese Denton Thompson will be held today at 11 a.m. at Webb Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Harrison officiating.  Interment will be in Magnolia Cemetery. James F. Webb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

    Mrs. Thompson, 89, of Meridian, passed away on July 27, 2013 at Infinity Hospice in Marion. Eliese was a loving Christian wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was a lifelong member of East End United Methodist church where she served as faithful organist for 50 years until the church closed in 2009 and she was a staff organist at Webb Funeral Home for 40 years.       

    Survivors include her children, Charlie (Susan) Thompson of Indianapolis, Ind., Rebecca (Allan) Keller of Quitman, and E. B. Thompson of Montpellier, La.; three grand- daughters, Elaine Fulmer of Millwood, Va., Frannie Parker (Wade) of Quitman, Hollie Hammett (John) of Wasilla, Alaska, and nine great grandchildren; sister, Marie Mosley of Brandon, and brother, Charles Denton of Shorewood, Ill.; sister in law, Margaret Thompson of Meridian, brother in law, Sam Thompson (Maxine ) of Brandon, and numerous nieces and nephews.

    She is preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Sula Denton; husband, Harold B. Thompson; and sister, Hazel Denton Flora.       

    Visitation will be held today from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Webb Funeral Home.     

    In lieu of flowers donations may be given to Aldersgate retirement community Chapel fund if desired.
