Betty Pearl Johnson

MERIDIAN —     Betty Pearl Johnson, 77, of Quitman, passed away on July 11, 2013 at Infinity Hospice.

    Betty loved cooking for family and friends, nothing could top her peas and cornbread dressing.  Her home was always open as a place to share a slice of lemon pound cake or simply relax and enjoy the sights of her beautiful flowers and the hummingbirds that visited.  She loved to be on the go, spending time in fellowship with her church family, listening to live music with her friends, and visiting people in the community.  God's love flowed through Betty to bring joy to the lives of everyone she met.

    Betty is survived by sons, Michael D. (Sherrie) Johnson, Jeff Johnson, and George D. (Katie) Johnson, Daughter, Emma D. (Jeremiah) Linn, Grandchildren, Chris (Laine) Johnson, Scotty (Charlotte) Johnson, Phillip (Ashlea) Johnson, Stacy (Daniel) Benefield, Isaac Linn, Owen Linn, Ezra Linn, 8 Great Grandchildren, brother, Morris Herrington and sisters, Roslyn (Floyd) McCarra and  Doris (Chuck) Floyd.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Johnson, Jr. and her parents, Edd Herrington and Claudie Mae Boles Herrington.

    Visitation will be held today, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., at Wright's Funeral Home, Quitman, Mississippi.  Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 14, 2013, at 2 p.m. at the Wright's Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Terry Irby officiating. Burial will take place in the Providence Cemetery.

    Pallbearers will be Scotty Johnson, Phillip Johnson, Jeremiah Linn, Bruce Boykin, Bob Boykin and Daniel Benefield.  Honorary Pallbearer will be Bud Fuller.

    Memorial Contributions may be made to American Cancer Society. Online condolences can be given at
