Jerry E. Wilkerson

MERIDIAN —

    Services for Jerry E. Wilkerson will be held Friday, at 10 a.m., at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. John Temple officiating. Burial will be in the Daleville Community Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

    Mr. Wilkerson, 68, of Daleville, died Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at his residence. He served for 12 years in the Mississippi House of Representatives serving the Kemper and Lauderdale County areas. Mr. Wilkerson was the executive director of Petroleum Marketers Association, The Convenience Store Association and the Propane Gas Association for 25 years. He was a former teacher and Headmaster for Whynot and Kemper Academy. He was also a lifetime farmer, cattleman and horseman.

    Survivors include his children: Steve Wilkerson of Daleville, and Peppi Hatcher and husband Kevin of Daleville; step-children: John Mitchell and wife Deanna of Canton, and JoAnna Rayner and husband Chris of Madison; grandchildren: Tara Wilkerson, Leo Wilkerson, Leslie Hatcher and Madison Hatcher; and, step-grandchildren: John Mackey Mitchell, Guy Rayner and Christian Rayner.

    He was preceded in death by his wife, Sherry Wilkerson; parents, Deloris and Leo Wilkerson; and, an infant sister.

    Pallbearers will be Otis Doss, Doug Wilkerson, Bill Wilkerson, Curtis Shumate, Bobby Moody, Wes Lancaster, Jim Lipscomb and Walton Gresham.

    Visitation will be today, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., at the funeral home.
