MERIDIAN — Edwina Byrd White Covington


    Services for Edwina Byrd White Covington will be held today at 10 a.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home, with Pastor Eric Mabbott officiating.  Burial will be in Mt Carmel Presbyterian Cemetery in Bailey.

    Mrs. Covington, 87, of Bailey, passed away on June 26, 2013, at Golden Living Center in Meridian.

    Visitation will be today from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home.


Mamie Ruth Reed


    Funeral services for Mamie Ruth Reed will be held today at 2 p.m. at Pearlie Grove Baptist Church in Quitman, with Elder Charles Goodwin officiating. Burial will be in Coke's Chapel Cemetery with Berry and Gardner Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

    Mrs. Reed, 88, of Quitman, died Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at Lakeside Living Center.    Visitation will be Saturday, June 29, 2013 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Pearlie Grove Baptist Church.


Evelyn S. Johnson


    UNION -- Services for Mrs. Evelyn Smith Johnson, will be held at 2 p.m. today at Stephens Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Jon Martin officiating.  Burial will follow in the County Line Baptist Church Cemetery, with Stephens Funeral Home of Union in charge of the arrangements.

    Mrs. Johnson, age 88, of Union, went to her eternal home on Wednesday, June 26th, at her home in Union.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Union, and worked for many years at the Midland Shirt Factory in Union.

    Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Margaret and Thomas Cooper of Union; six nieces:  Janet Ware Wilkerson, Diane Ware Tarbutton, Glenda Meador, Pauline McElhenney, Juanita McElhenney, and Cathy Gill; and two nephews:  Charles Staton and Gary Lee.

     She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, W. L. Johnson, parents, Ben Ray and Bennie Ellington Smith, and a sister and brother-in-law, Mildred and Truitt Ware.

    Visitation will be today from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the funeral home in Union.

    Pallbearers will be the deacons from First Baptist Church of Union:  Joe Cleveland, Dean Russell, Larry Driskell, James Earl Cockerham, Bill Cassel, and Chris Collins.
