MERIDIAN — Jessie Burrell Tutor

    Services for Jessie Burrell Tutor will be held today at 11 a.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home with Rev. Franklin Denham officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

    Tutor, 93, died Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at his home.

    In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to East Mississippi Animal Rescue, 2440 North Hills Street, Suite 105, PMB 107 Meridian, MS 39305.

    Family and friends may sign the online guestbook at robertbarhamffh.com.

    Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

 

Mosezell McDade

    DEKALB – Services for Mosezell McDade will be held today at 2:30 p.m., at Macedonia Baptist Church, DeKalb, with Rev. Randall Bohannon officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with E.E. McDonald Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

    McDade, 51, of DeKalb, died Monday, March 25, 2013, at Rush Foundation Hospital, Meridian.

 

James Nettles

    QUITMAN - Services for James (Jim) Nettles will be Sunday, March 31, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Shubuta Baptist Church with Dr. Gene Neal officiating. Burial will be in Shubuta Cemetery with Wright's Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

    Nettles, 69, of Tallahassee, Fla., and a native of Shubuta, died Thursday, March 28, 2013. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. His career as an educator inspired thousands and his legacy will survive for generations. Never seeking recognition, he showed compassion for the misfortunate. He carried a healthy sense of humor and sincere appreciation for the simplest pleasures.

    Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Nettles; children: Jason Nettles and Eran Stanley; and, grandchildren: Lucy Stanley, Jack Stanley, Harper Nettles and Reed Nettles.

    In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Shubuta Baptist Church or First Baptist Church, Quitman.

    Friends may sign online guest register at wrightsfuneral.com.

    Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church on Sunday.

 

Rosa L. Dukes

    BUTLER, Ala. – Services for Rosa L. Dukes will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Millwood Primitive Baptist Church with Rev. Marvin Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Woodall Cemetery with Weatherly-Studdard Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

    Dukes, 81, of Pennington, died Monday, March 25, 2013, at her residence.

    Visitation will be Sunday, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., at the funeral home, and one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.

 

Berda M. Rush

    Services for Berda M. Rush will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at New Prospect Baptist Church with Rev. Jerome Roberts officiating. Burial will be in Meridian Memorial Park Cemetery with Berry and Gardner Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

    Rush, 70, of Meridian, died Thursday, March 28, 2013, at Anderson Regional Medical Center.

    Survivors include her husband, Lawrence Rush Sr.; two sons: Lawrence Rush Jr. of Jackson, and Frederick Rush of Meridian; three daughters whom she took in as her own: Lisa Dickey of Brookhaven, Shelia Jackson of Lafayette, La., and LaTonya Drinker of Hattiesburg; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert Jenkins of Meridian; one special niece, Beverly Cole of Meridian; and, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

    She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Gladys Jenkins and Eli Jenkins; one brother, Eli Jenkins Jr.; and one son, Rodney Rush.

    There will be no visitation.

 

Rev. Sim W. Matthews

    PHILADELPHIA – Services for Rev. Sim W. Matthews will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Germany and Rev. Brett Cooper officiating. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery in the Dixon Community of Neshoba County with McClain-Hays Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

    Rev. Matthews, 73, of Union, died Friday, March 29, 2013, at his residence.

    Visitation will be Monday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
