     A memorial service for Janna LeAnn Daugherty Pearson will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Stonewall Assembly of God Church.

    Janna LeAnn Daugherty Pearson, 35, of Long Beach, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013 after a brief battle with cancer.

    Janna was born March 2, 1977, in Meridian, to Robert and Molly Daugherty and was raised in Stonewall. She was a graduate of Enterprise High School. On March 11, 1995, she became the bride of Daniel Pearson of Quitman.

    Janna received an Associate Degree in Nursing from Meridian Community College and then earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from the University of Southern Mississippi. She began her nursing career at Rush Hospital in Meridian and was later employed as a registered nurse at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, Ky., and at Tulane Medical Center in New Orleans, La. After becoming interested in the home health field, Janna was employed as branch manager of Gulf Coast Home Care of Gulfport and was quality manager for Amedisys Home Health at the time of her death. She was a member of Northwood Church in Gulfport.

    Janna’s pride and joy was her children and she happily cheered them on in all of their many activities. Friends, old and new, were very important to Janna and she lovingly maintained those relationships throughout her life. She will be remembered as a loving wife, precious daughter and sister and treasured friend.

    She is survived by her husband, Daniel Pearson, daughters, Haley and Hannah Pearson, and son, Robert Daniel Pearson, all of Long Beach; parents, Robert and Molly Daugherty of Stonewall; brother, Jackye Daugherty and his wife, Wendy, of Quitman; grandmother, Mrs. Louella Kennedy; mother-in-law, Cathy Pearson of Quitman; and several nieces and nephews.

    Janna was preceded in death by her grandparents, Marvin Kennedy, and Archie and Rosie Daugherty; and her father-in-law, George Truman Pearson.

    In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a fund in Janna’s name set up by her closest friends for her children at Edward Jones, 401-A Center Ave., Philadelphia, MS 39350 or to Stonewall Assembly of God Church.

    The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation and thanks for the tender care Janna’s friends gave to her and her family during her illness. Neighbors, friends, and co-workers provided food, prayers and companionship an this kindness will never be forgotten.
