Memorial services for Ronald W. Klump will be held Friday at 3 p.m. at Northpointe Presbyterian Church with Dr. Bob Schwanebeck officiating. There will also be a memorial service in Lancaster, S.C. in Unity A.R.P. Church, on Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014 at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in the Unity A.R.P. cemetery. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Klump, 71, of Meridian died Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014, at Regency Hospital. He was a retired member of Wycliffe Bible Translators where he served for over forty years. After his retirement he continued to serve with Wycliffe Bible Translators as an advocate. Since moving to Meridian he was active in volunteering in local ministries, including Good News Jail and Prison Ministry and he was a member of The Gideons. Mr. Klump was a member of Northpointe Presbyterian Church. As a member he was active in the men’s ministries, served on the missions committee and sang in the choir
Survivors include his wife, Kathy M. Klump of Meridian; daughter, Theresa Van Blankers-Klump and husband Marcel, of The Netherlands; sons, Theodore A. Klump of South Korea and Keven L. Klump and wife Cathy of Toccoa, Ga.; grandchildren, Amos Van Blankers and Judi Van Blankers, of The Netherlands, Amanda Erickson, Amber Meyers, Angela Morales, and Brandon Mays; eight great-grandchildren; brothers, John Klumpp and wife Rheta, James Klumpp and wife Candy and Phillip Klumpp and wife Barbara; sister-in-law Joan A. Nash; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Alice and Walter Klumpp and first wife Judith A. Nash Klumpp.
The family requests in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to Wycliffe Bible Translators, Northpointe Presbyterian Church, and Unity A.R.P. Church.
