George A. Polizzi

MERIDIAN —     Services for George A. Polizzi will be held today, Tuesday, at 6 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home with Father Cosgrove officiating. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

    Mr. Polizzi, 70, of Meridian died Sunday Jan. 5, 2014 at Rush Hospital.

    Mr. Polizzi, retired Railroad engineer with Norfolk Southern Railroad was a U.S. Navy Veteran. He was a member of Council 802 Knights of Columbus and member of St. Patrick Catholic Church.

    Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Kathy Polizzi of Meridian; son, Tony Polizzi and wife Brandy, of Meridian; granddaughter, Logan Polizzi; grandson, Ross Polizzi; brother, Frank Polizzi, and wife Donna of Meridian; sister, Linda Lavene and husband Larry of Meridian; Betty Lynn Allen Garrison and husband Roy Jr. of Meridian, numerous nieces and nephews and special companions, Dutchess, Duke and Pierre.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, Tony and Marjorie Polizzi; and his brother, Andrew Polizzi.

    In lieu of flowers the family request memorials may be made to East Mississippi Animal Rescue, 2440 North Hills Street Box 105 Meridian, MS 39305.

    Pallbearers will be Knights of Columbus 4th Degree.

    Visitation will be held today, Tuesday, from 5 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home.
