Darin Edward Scott



Services for Darin Edward Scott will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Hebron Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Crenshaw officiating. Burial will be in Ford Memorial Gardens with Wright’s Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Scott, 17, of Meridian, died, Friday, October 19, 2007 at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.

Survivors include his mother and father, Wayne & Karen Scott of Meridian, his brother, Ryan Scott of Ridgeland, MS, his half-brother, Jeff Scott of Childersburg, AL, grandmother, Elizabeth Garrison of Richmond, VA, his uncle, Jim Linton of Meridian, his uncle and aunt, Andy and Sue Linton of Meridian, cousins, Joseph Linton of Meridian, Marcus Linton of Meridian, and Matthew Linton of Meridian.

Visitation will be today after 5 p.m. at Wright’s Funeral Home.



Jerry L. Luke



Services for Jerry L. Luke will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Chunky Baptist with the Rev. Wayne Campbell & Curtis Guess officiating. Burial will be in Chunky Cemetery with Barham Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Luke, 70, of Chunky died Saturday, October 20, 2007 at UAB Medical Center in Birmingham, Ala.

Survivors include his wife, Johnnie Jean Flake Luke of Chunky, his children, Mike Luke, & wife, Christie of Chunky, Tena Gressett & husband Billy of Chunky, Vonda Rowzee & husband Robert of Newton, Jeremy Luke & wife Carrie of Chunky, five grandchildren, Hannah Gressett, Jordy Luke, Casey Rowzee, Jess Luke, & Maggie Luke, a sister, Sarah Holder & husband Bill of Pacagoula, several nieces and nephews and a host of special friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester & Velma Luke, and brother, Wayne Luke.

The family requests memorials be made to Chunky Baptist Church of Gideons.

Visitation will be Monday, one hour before the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Luke was a member of Chunky Baptist Church, and a retired rural route mail carrier in the Chunky area. Mr. Luke was president of Pine Forest Hunting Club. He was a very loving husband, daddy, and grandaddy.

Pallbearers will be Jordy Luke, Jess Luke, Bobby Anderson, Stan Nelson, Randy Freeman, Johnny Ferguson, John Robert Williamson & Tyler Thomas.



Dorothy Swanner



Services for Dorothy Swanner will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church with the Rev. Buddy Petty & Gilbert Prince officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Gilead Baptist Church Cemetery with Barham Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Swanner, 66, of Toomsuba, died Sunday, October 21, 2007 at her residence.

She was retired from Peavey Electronics & switch board operator for Rush Hospital.

Survivors include her husband, W.D. “Boe” Swanner of Toomsuba, her daughter, Karen Howell & husband, Ricky of Bay Springs, her son, Douglas Swanner of Toomsuba, three grandchildren, Amanda Dayvolt, Ashley Dayvolt, Melissa Swanner, a sister, Cecile Stokley & husband, R.W. of Collinsville, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Everett & Mary Brown.

The family requests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, or Hope Village for Children.

Visitation will be Monday at 5 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Swanner was a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church.

Pallbearers will be Larry Shaw, Grady Yeager, Michael Yancey, Craig Crouch, Billy Knight, Lamar Ross.



Josie M. Jones



Services for Josie M. Jones will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at James F. Webb Chapel with the Rev. James E. Sanders officiating. Burial will be at Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery with James F. Webb Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Jones, 87, of Meridian, died Friday, October 19, 2007 at Laird Hospital in Union. She was a graduate of Beulah Hubbard High School in 1938 and a homemaker.

Survivors include her son, Larry Jones & wife, Gloria of Meridian, sister, Bernice Ashley of Nieceville, FL, brother, Dorris Johnson of Birmingham, AL, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J.B. Jones.

Pallbearers will be Mike Fergeson, Doyle McMullin, Byron Johnson, Hines McMahan, Wilbert Esom, and Micky McMahan.

Visitation will be Monday at 5 p.m. at the funeral home.

Jeane C. Wash



Services for Jeane C. Wash will be held Tuesday at 3 p.m. at graveside, with Rev. Sam Hull, Richard Williams and Jack Kern officiating. Burial will be in Pinecrest Cemetery with Stephens Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Wash, 75, of Scooba, died Sunday, October 21, 2007 at her residence.

She was employed as a bookkeeper for McDonald’s Restaurants.

Survivors include her children, Terri C. Goss & husband, Bobby of Scooba, Mary Ann DeSantis & husband, Tony of The Villages, FL, Nora Lynn Davis & husband, Mike of Pensacola, FL, grandchildren, Amanda Hailey & husband, Jason, Jonathan Goss, great grandchildren, Alicia Aspiazu, Hagen Hailey, sisters in law and brothers in law, Dr. J.U. & Ruby Morrison, W.H. & Snookie Knight and Roland Guy all of Laurel, sisters, June Aust & husband, Bubba of DeKalb, Joyce Aust of DeKalb, brother, Jimmy Craig of Carthage.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Billie Ray Wash, her parents, James & Venie Craig & sister-in-law, Blanch Guy.

Visitation will be Tuesday at noon at the funeral home in DeKalb.

Mrs. Wash was a member of DeKalb Methodist Church.

Pallbearers will be Roland Guy, E.T. Mosley, Bobby Miles, Ben Williams, Justin Watt, and Pete Slay. Honorary pallbearers will be Stan Sanders and David Oliver.



Margaret A. Wagner



Arrangements were incomplete at Barham Funeral Home for Margaret A. Wagner, 58, of Meridian who died, Saturday, October 20, 2007, at Rush Hospital.
