Opal Johnson Buckley
Retired
Graveside services for Opal Johnson Buckley will be held today at 2 p.m. at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Greg Massey officiating. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Buckley, 91, of Meridian, died Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2007, in her home. She worked as a nurse at East Mississippi State Hospital and also as a beautician. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She will be remembered as one who loved working in her garden and doing arts and crafts.
Survivors include her daughters, Glenda F. Buckley and Rita Reed and her husband, George, all of Meridian; granddaughters, Wendy Reed of San Jose, Calif., Dana Reed of Manhattan, N.Y., and Jodi Reed of Atlanta; brothers, Elton Johnson and his wife, Sue, of Greenville, Ala., and Turner Johnson and his wife, Dooley, of Andalousia, Ala.; a sister-in-law, Earline Johnson of Pascagoula and several nieces and nephews and a special friend, Sarah Shelby.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis James Buckley; brothers, Starling “Star” Johnson, James “Jim” Johnson, Hardy Johnson and Woodrow Johnson; sisters, Amy Walker, Ina Wardlow and Ruby Snowden.
Visitation will be today from 11 a.m.- 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
Paul Sterling Flake
PHILADELPHIA — Services for Paul Sterling Flake will be held today at 2 p.m. at Beat Line Baptist Church with the Rev. Ben McDaniel officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. John E. Stephens Chapel Funeral Services is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Flake, 53, of Philadelphia, died Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2007, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include his sister, Debbie Miles; brothers, Bobby Flake, David Flake, George Flake and James Flake and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be today one hour prior to the service at the church.
Raymond L. Williamson Sr.

QUITMAN — Services for Raymond L. Williamson Sr. will be held today at 2 p.m. at Wright’s Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery in Clarke County.
Mr. Williamson, 72, of Quitman, died Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2007, in his home. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Irene Williamson of Quitman; a son, Ray L. Williamson II, of Shubuta; daughters, Sheryl Allen of Meridian and Debbie Martin of Jackson; a brother, John D. Williamson Jr. of Vicksburg; a sister, Rebecca Monk of Vicksburg; grandchildren, Heather Hagwood and Stephen Hagwood, both of Meridian, Katie McDonald and Kim Holley, both of Jackson and Ariel Williamson of Collinsville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John D. Williamson Sr. and Elberta Williamson; a brother, Buddy Williamson and a sister, Helen Hearn.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Hagwood, Steve Graham, Keith McDonald, Morris Williamson, Zachery Overstreet and Justin Holley.
Albert L. Gilbert Jr.

QUITMAN — Services for Albert L. Gilbert Jr. will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Desoto Baptist Church with the Revs. Norman Robinson and Keith Tankersley officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Wright’s Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Gilbert, 84, of Shubuta, died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2007, at H.C. Watkins Memorial Hospital in Quitman. He was a retired self-employed cattle farmer. He was a veteran of the U.S. Military and served in World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Mary F. Gilbert of Desoto; a son, Bud Gilbert and his wife, Nancy, of Desoto; brothers, John Gilbert of Meridian and James Gilbert of Vossburg; sisters, Albert Brewer and Ruth Hapic, both of Phoenix and Syble Wilson of Sacramento, Calif.; great-grandchildren, Kaylee Marie Mixon and Chasity Mixon, both of Quitman.
Pallbearers will be Thomas Walton, Bobby Walton, Paul Bell, Riley Walton, Charles McGee and Wayne Taylor.
Visitation will be today beginning at 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
Ruby Easter Martin Jacobs
GILBERTOWN, Ala. — Services for Ruby Easter Martin Jacobs will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Wesley Slay and Edgar Jenkins officiating. Burial will be in Womack Hill Cemetery.
Ms. Jacobs, 96, of Gilbertown, died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2007, in her home.
Survivors include her three sons; six daughters; 21 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 6 p.m.- 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Nathan Alexander

Services for Nathan Alexander will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Pilgrim Progress Baptist Church with the Rev. Darryl Fluker officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Clark’s Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Alexander, 66, of Meridian, died Monday, Oct. 8, 2007, at Riley Hospital.
Visitation will be today from 7:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. at the funeral home and Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church.
Bernice Donald
Services for Bernice Donald will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Davey Wilkinson officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Donald, 82, of Marion, died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2007, in Meridian. She was the part owner and operator of Discount Vacuum and owned Donald’s Mobile Home Park.
Visitation will be Sunday from 4 p.m.- 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Dorothy Allen
FOREST — Services for Dorothy “Dot” Allen were held Sunday, Sept. 23, 2007, at the family residence with burial in the Golden Grove Church of God Cemetery with the Revs. Paul Sistrunk and Jackie Taylor officiating. Ott and Lee Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Allen, 61, of Walnut Grove, died Thursday, Sept. 20, 2007, at Laird Hospital in Union.
Survivors include her husband of 24 years, Billy Ray Allen; son: Charlie Allen; sister: Jeanette Palmer; brother: Daniel Lamar Logan: sister-n-law: Kathy Fortenberry: nieces: Janet Clark and Amanda Arender: nephews: Ben and Stanley Fortenberry.
