Renee Risher Loewenberg

ST. CHARLES, Mo. — Services for Renee Risher Loewenberg will be held today at 10 a.m. at The Baue Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in St. Patrick Cemetery in Meridian Wednesday at 11 a.m. James F. Webb Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
Mrs. Loewenberg, 71, of Vandalia, died Friday, Sept. 28, 2007, in Vandalia. She was born on Nov. 29, 1935, in Meridian, Miss., to the now late John Alphonsus Risher and Irene Pacetti Risher.
She was a graduate of Mississippi University for Women. She as an American Airlines Flight Attendant in Dallas until her marriage to Bruce Loewenberg in 1964.
After moving to St. Charles, she was a long time librarian for the Francis Howell School District. She loved reading, the theatre and her cats.
Survivors include her husband of more than 43 years, Bruce J. Loewenberg; nieces, Stephanie Risher of Houston, Texas and nephews, Al Risher, of Houston and Steven Risher of Memphis, Tenn.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, James Risher and John Risher.
Memorials may be made to the Renee Risher Loewenberg Scholarship Fund at Mississippi University for Women, 1100 College St. MUW1618, Columbus, MS 39701. This scholarship will be awarded annually to a student who is the first in her family to attend MUW.

Irmertee Todd Roach
Services for Irmertee “Muh” Todd Roach will be held Monday, Oct. 8, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Frank Cosgrove officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Garden Cemetery. Berry and Gardner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Roach, 92, of Meridian, died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007, in her home. She was born on June 21, 1915, in Horne, to the now late Ida Whittaker and Henry Moody. She attended grade school in Clarke County in Quitman and continued her education at St. Joseph Mission School in Meridian. She attended Meridian Junior College, where she completed the Hospital Sitters Course. She attended St. Joseph Catholic Church and accepted the Lord as her savior at an early age.
Survivors include her children, Thelma Robinson of Meridian, Cassie Mae Brown of Detroit, Carl L. Todd Jr. and his wife, Deborah, of Meridian, Hattie Lue Gordon and her husband, James, of Meridian, Ida Bea Tomlin and her husband, Samuel, of West Bloomfield, Mich. and Paul Todd of Detroit; her son in Christ, John Watson of Meridian; a sister-in-law, Marian Jackson of Springfield, Ill.; 20 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; nephews, Paul “P.L.” Parker and his wife, Fran, Samuel “Buddy” Nicholson and her best friends, Edna Mae Smith and Christine Chamberlain and several other friends and relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Carl L. Todd Sr. and Johnny Roach; her sister, Lillian “Baby” Sulton; her brother Abraham “Buddy” Jackson and a great-grandson, Devin Brown and her parents.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m.- 8 p.m. at the funeral home with family hour from 7 p.m.- 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 a.m.-10:50 a.m. at the church.

PHILADELPHIA — Services for Terry D. Wilcher will be held today at 11 a.m. at John E. Stephens Chapel. Burial will be in Ebenezer Cemetery.
Mr. Wilcher, 66, of Edinburg, died Sunday, Sept. 30, 2007,at Hospice In His Hands in Carthage. He was a veteran of the U.S. National Guard.
Survivors include his wife, Dianne Wilcher; daughters, Lori Tierce and Tracy Mitchell; sons, Tim Wilcher, Kenneth Sullivan and Brian Sullivan; three sisters and four brothers; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Nickey, 85, of Heidelberg, died Friday, Sept. 28, 2007, at South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel.
Survivors include her daughters, Vada Nickey, Kathleen Isaac, Ruby Thompson, May McGeisey, Emaline Lewis and Rosie Joe; sons, Nathaniel Nickey, Lydell Nickey, Lyndell Nickey and Lyndon Nickey; 72 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Porter, 85, of Quitman, died Monday, Oct. 1, 2007, at H.C. Watkins Memorial Hospital in Quitman.
Survivors include her son, John Porter and his wife, Carroll, of Rose Hill; a brother, Will Caraway and his wife, Ann, of Laurel; sisters, Sarah Catherine Stewart of Meridian and Mattie Bessie Flynt of Rose Hill; grandchildren, John Porter Jr. and his wife, Candie Jo, Joanie Bailey and her husband, Daniel, all of Rose Hill Susan Watkins and her husband, Kevin, of Sebastopol, Regina Tucker and her husband, Tommy, of Mize, Christi Hamrick and her husband, Ronnie, of Rose Hill and Stacie Hooker and her husband, Chris, of Tennessee and Chris Porter of Rose Hill; 17 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Arthur Porter; sons, Grady Wayne Porter and Arthur Mitchell “Mikey” Porter and a grandson, John Wayne Porter.
Visitation will be today beginning at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

GILBERTOWN, Ala. — Graveside services for Phenia Doggett will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Brightwater Cemetery. Phillips Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Ms. Doggett, 81, of Bossier City, La., died Friday, Sept. 28, 2007, at Pilgrim Manor Nursing Home in Bossier City.
Survivors include several nieces, nephews and a sister-in-law.

Mrs. Roberson, 82, of Whynot, died Sunday, Sept. 30, 2007, in her home.
Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Thomas Clyde Roberson; daughters, Sandra Butler and her husband, James E. and Brenda Roberson, all of Whynot; a son, Clyde C. Roberson and his wife, DeeDee; grandchildren, David Roberson, Nikki White, Heather Hollingsworth, Raymond Butler, Trent Butler, Daniela Eubanks and Glenn Warren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Ola Roberson of Quitman, Audrey Euline Day of Temucala, Calif.; brothers, Calvin Powell of Jackson and Stennis Powell of the Gulf Coast.

Mrs. Brown, 92, of DeKalb, died Sunday, Sept. 30, 2007, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. She was married to Glen Brown for more than 57 years. She was a member of Center Ridge Baptist Church after accepting Christ at an early age. She will be remembered as a loving and caring wife and mother.
Survivors include her daughters, Nancy Moore and her husband, Jim, of Decatur and Barbara Brown of DeKalb; sisters, Jeannie Bounds of Laurel, Eleanor Ethridge of Meridian, Helen Craine of Starkville, Janie McWilliams of DeKalb and Edith M. Lundy of Summitt; brothers, Arnold McWilliams of Daleville and Donald McWilliams of Meridian; grandsons, James M. Moore III of Coldwater, Dr. Jon Moore of Birmingham, Ala. and Thomas Moore of Austin, Texas and six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen Brown; parents, Walter Ross McWilliams and Emma Jane McWilliams; sisters, Beatrice McWilliams, May McWilliams and Nona M. Quarles.

Mrs. Gower, 89, of Winter Park, Fla., died Friday, Sept. 28, 2007, in Winter Park. She was a long time resident of Dalewood. She was a former member of Lauderdale United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Beth Wilkinson of Winter Park; sons, Thomas M. Gower Jr. of Punta Gorda, Fla., and Donald H. Gower of Franklin, Tenn.; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas M. Gower Sr. and a grandson, Michael Wilkinson.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.- 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Clearman, 64, of Collinsville, died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007, in his home.

Jeanne Dement
Graveside services for Jeanne Dement were held Monday at 11:30 a.m. at Magnolia Cemetery with the Revs. Tom Sikes and Lucien Lee of First Christian Church officiating. Barham Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Miss Dement, 85, of Meridian, died Thursday, Sept. 27, 2007, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
She was a life long resident of Meridian and was born on Sept. 18, 1922, the youngest of seven children born to John Vance and Sallie Clark Dement.
She worked for 41 years as a bookkeeper at the family business, Dement Printing Company of Meridian and retired at the age of 65.
She was a former member of Meridian Junior Auxiliary, and was a long time member of First Christian Church where she enjoyed helping with the annual Kentucky Ham Breakfast well into her 70’s.
Miss Dement enjoyed traveling with friends in her younger days and her hobbies included reading and especially spending time with her extended family.
Survivors include her sister and best friend, Margaret and her husband, Bill Wayne Drinkwater of Meridian; nieces and nephews, Margene Dement Bullock and her husband, Bob, Johnny Dement and his wife, Judy, Sallie Anne Dement Kittle, all of Meridian, Jimmy Duvall of Rancho Santa Fe, Calif., Olivia Duvall Schade and her husband, Lance, of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Vance Randall and his wife, Tricia, of Jackson, Lee Randall and his wife, Kathy, of New Orleans, Everett Randall and his wife, Deb, of West Chester, Pa., Wayne Drinkwater and his wife, Ouida, of Ridgeland, Bob Drinkwater and his wife, Pat, of Madison, John Drinkwater and his wife, Trish, of Meridian and Mary Leslie Dement Cox and her husband, David, of Ridgeland; 22 great-nieces and great-nephews and 19 great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews and one great-great-great-nephew.
She was preceded in death by her parents; five siblings and their spouses, Mary Elizabeth Duvall and her husband, J.D., of Mobile, Ala., John Clark Dement and his wife, Mary Sue, Vance Dement and his wife, Mary Alice, Sara Randall and her husband, Richard, and James Dement and his wife, Nell, all of Meridian; a niece, Sara Duvall Ballard Crawford of Mobile.
