Eunice T. Lummus Rutledge



Services for Eunice T. Lummus Rutledge will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles B. Davis Sr. officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Mrs. Rutledge, 80, of Gulfport, died Monday, Sept. 10, 2007, in Gulfport. She was born on March 14, 1927, in Levy County, Fla. She will be remembered as a loving and caring mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and a friend to many. She will be missed by all until all meet again.

Survivors include her children, Ann Seymour and her husband, E.J., of Biloxi, Monica Ford and her husband, Kenny, of Yantley, Ala., Mike Rutledge and his wife, Kathie, of Marietta, Ga. and Dennis Rutledge and his wife, Linda, of Gulfport; 10 grandchildren; sisters, Sarah Stallone of Gulfport and Ruth Whitehurst of Grand Bay, Ala. and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Arthur Rutledge.

Pallbearers will be David Seymour, Daniel Rutledge, Rickey Lummus, George Cutts, Jimmy James and Terry Strickland.

Visitation will be today from 6 p.m.- 8 p.m. at the funeral home.



Opal Gressett Dill



Services for Opal Gressett Dill will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at James F. Webb Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Mt. Gilead Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Dill, 73, of Vancleave, died Saturday, Sept. 8, 2007, in Ocean Springs. She was a longtime resident of Vancleave and a native of Meridian.

Survivors include her daughters, Yvonne Glenn and Rhonda Roberts, both of Vancleave; a sister, Kathleen Gressett Fontaine of Pensacola, Fla.; a brother, Fred B. Gressett Jr. of Meridian; 10 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eleck Dill and a son, Roger Crews; parents, Fred and Annie Boswell Gressett.

Visitation will be today from 6 p.m.- 9 p.m. at the funeral home.



Howard Lamar Hinson

Pipe plant employee



QUITMAN — Services for Howard Lamar Hinson will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Hebron Ridge Baptist Church with the Revs. Grady Crowell and Claude Killian officiating. Burial will be in Shady Grove Cemetery in North Clarke County. Wright’s Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Hinson, 45, of Quitman, died Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2007, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian.

Survivors include his wife, Darlene Hinson of Quitman; a son, Robert Jason Brewster of Jackson; a daughter, Heather Fessendene of Stonewall; his father, Howard J. Hinson of Quitman; a brother, William B. Hinson of Quitman; a sister, Glynnie Carol Abston of Quitman; nephews, Lance Hinson and Vince Hinson.

Pallbearers will be Rodney Boutwell, Eddie Gable, Vince Hinson, Ray Gergurek, Lance Hinson and Tommy Andrews.

Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.- 9 p.m. at the funeral home and Thursday one hour prior to the service at the church.



Dorothy Jones



Services for Dorothy Jones will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Enterprise Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Hickory.

Mrs. Jones, 87, of Meridian, died Friday, Sept. 7, 2007, at Beverly Healthcare Center.

Survivors include her son, James Jones; a brother, Walter Robertson; sisters, Marcella Johnson and Mercy Bobbett and two grandchildren.

Visitation will be today from 7 p.m.- 8 p.m. at the funeral home.



Grady Lee Rush

Retired



Services for Grady Lee Rush will be held Friday at 11:30 a.m. at New Prospect Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul Garrett officiating. Burial will be in Meridian Memorial Park Cemetery. Berry and Gardner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Rush, 69, of Meridian, died Monday, Sept. 10, 2007, in his home. He was a retired concrete finisher and a member of New Prospect Baptist Church in Meridian.

Survivors include his mother, Gertruline Rush of Meridian; daughters, Loraine Waterford of Chicago, Angela Mosley and her husband, Jerry, of Gautier, Kimberly Hayes and Veronica Williams, both of Meridian; sons, Steven Rush and Daryl Rush, both of Meridian; sisters, Irene Wade, Mary Jones and her husband, Billy Joe, all of Meridian, Patricia Brown and her husband, Josh, of Jackson, Alinda Brown of Houston, Texas and Gloria McDonald and her husband, Mark, of Jackson; brothers, Lawrence Rush and his wife, Berda, of Meridian, O.C. Rush and his wife, Ruby, of Southfield, Mich. and Ricky Rush, of Meridian; 14 grandchildren; three aunts; one niece; six nephews; a devoted friend, Octavia Hayes of Meridian; an “adopted” sister, Barbara White; and several cousins and friends; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jessie Rush; one step-son and two nephews.

Visitation will be Thursday from 6 p.m.- 7 p.m. at the funeral home.



George James Jr.

Retired



Services for George James Jr. will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Clark’s Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James Hare officiating. Burial will be in Little Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Stonewall.

Mr. James, 77, of Meridian, died Sunday, Sept. 9, 2007, at Queen City Nursing Home.

Visitation will be Friday from 5 p.m.- 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
