Joseph Stephen Sanders

Services for Joseph Stephen Sanders will be held today at 11 a.m. at Church of the Way with the Revs. Jack Giles and Dr. Raymon Leake officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Sanders, 31, of Bailey, died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2007, in Meridian. He attended Church of the Way.

Survivors include his wife, Albree Garnett Sanders of Bailey; children, Scottland Jane Sanders, Arlyn Grace Sanders and Joseph Shepard Sanders; his parents, Joe Charles "Chuck" Sanders Jr. and Janie Wolfe Sanders of Meridian; sisters, Julie Sanders Senecal and her husband, Aaron, of Nashville, Tenn. and Christina Hope Sanders of Meridian; a brother, Jonathan Charles Sanders of Meridian; a niece, Isabella Bryce Gibson of Meridian; a nephew, Jon Aspen Sanders of Meridian; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Charles Sanders Sr. and Mr. and Mrs. Louis R. Wolfe of Meridian; aunts and uncles, Marcia and Randy West, Leila Sanders, Scott and Susie Morgan, Carol LeNoir and Martha Fountain; cousins, Shannon Fountain Everhart, Lauren Fountain James, Brooke Morgan Chamblee, Abby Morgan, Wesley Morgan, Kennedy LeNoir, Denn LeNoir, Melissa Parker, Jennifer Paulk, Ashley Siegfried, Ronald Sparnecht and Natalie Denson.

Memorials may be made to Righteous Oaks Recovery Ministry at 5120 Pine Forrest Road, Chunky, MS 39323.

Pallbearers will be David Greer, John Lisenbee, Doug Marshall, Phillip Chisolm, DeVon "Vec" Williams, Heath Thomas, Kenneth Johnson and Aaron Senecal.

Visitation will be today one hour prior to the service at the church. Nursery provided at the church.



William Lavon Murff

QUITMAN — Services for William Lavon Murff will be held today at 2 p.m. at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Michael Boutwell officiating. Burial will be in Buckatunna Cemetery in Clarke County.

Mr. Murff, 71, of Quitman, died Thursday, Aug. 29, 2007, at H.C. Watkins Memorial Hospital in Quitman.

Survivors include his sister-in-law, Jeanette Murff; four nieces and two nephews, other extended family and friends.

Visitation will be today from noon until service time at the funeral home.



Mondell Robbins LaConte

Graveside services for Mondell Robbins LaConte will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Forest Lawn Cemetery with the Rev. Ray Boone officiating. Stephens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. LaConte, 86, of Meridian, died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2007, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and served as a past matron. She lived most of her life in Boston and retired to Florida where she was an avid golfer. She played her last 18 holes at the age of 84. She lived at Silverleaf Manor in Meridian.

Survivors include her daughter, Shirley Fairclough and her husband, James, of Boston; a sister, Charline Robbins Limerick and her husband, Oliver, of Wahalak; brothers, F.L. "Pete" Robbins and his wife, Grace, of Columbia and Bennie Robbins and his wife, Izella, of Jackson; two grandsons; six nieces; six great-nieces and great-nephews and several friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frances D. LaConte and her parents, Marion Luther Robbins and Ottis Oswalt Robbins.

Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.- 7 p.m. at the funeral home.



Jessie M. McWilliams

Services for Jessie M. McWilliams will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at E.E. McDonald Community Chapel in Meridian with the Rev. Van C. Williams officiating. Burial will be in New Hope Blackwater Church Cemetery in Daleville.

Ms. McWilliams, 73, of Meridian, died Friday, Aug. 24, 2007, at Meridian Community Living Center.

She was preceded in death by her parents and five siblings.

Visitation will be today from 6 p.m.- 7 p.m. at the community chapel in Meridian.



Betty J. Tinsley



Services for Betty J. Tinsley will be held Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Derick Simmons officiating. Burial will be in Meridian Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Tinsley, 73 of Meridian, died Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2007, at Beverly Healthcare Center.

Survivors include her daughter, Tina Young of Wichita, Kan.; a son, Baxter Cook of Meridian; sisters, Ann Neely and Elizabeth Sumrall, both of Meridian and Georgia Edge of Warner Robbins, Ga.; a brother, Johnny Shurly of Meridian; grandchildren, Jessica Deen of South Carolina, Tyler Singleton, Amanda Santillano, Daniel Cook, and Samantha Cook, all of Meridian and Abby Cook of Jackson.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Renna Santillano and a granddaughter, Chasity Cook.

Pallbearers will be her nephews.

Visitation will be Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

DEKALB — Services for James H. "Hershel" Payton will be held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Beulah Baptist Church in DeKalb with the Rev. Melvin Rush officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. E.E. McDonald Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Payton, 37, of DeKalb, died Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2007, at Heartfelt Hospice in Meridian. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by his father and a sister.

Visitation will be today from 6 p.m.- 7 p.m. at the funeral home in DeKalb.
