Services for Luke Michael Ball Jr. will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with the Rev. W.R. Clark officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Berry and Gardner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Ball, 40, of Meridian, died Thursday, Aug. 23, 2007, at Rush Foundation Hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Angie Ball; sons, Demetric Young, Luke Ball III, and Jayden McClelland, all of Meridian; his father, Luke Ball Sr.; mother, Lizzie Ball; sisters, Jacqueline Ball, Krystal and Marquetta Hall, all of Meridian.
Visitation will be Friday from 7:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. and Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church.
Thomas Earl Alexander
Services for Thomas Earl Alexander will be held today at 10 a.m. at James F. Webb Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Justin Knight officiating. Burial will be in New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Alexander, 48, died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2007, at Rush Foundation Hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Alexander of Meridian; daughters, Brandie Alexander and Tammy Alexander of Louisiana; mother-in-law, Geneva Basham; sisters, Mary Brook of Texas and April Alexander; a brother, James Alexander of Baton Rouge, La.; a brother-in-law, Roger Basham; sister-in-law, Jennifer Smith; special friends, Gene and Maggie Davenport and their daughters, Sherry and Sandra and Charles and Kim Lee.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Mary Alexander and a brother, Johnny Alexander.

PHILADELPHIA — Graveside services for Jewel R. Martin will be held today at 10:30 a.m. at Hope Cemetery in Neshoba County.
Mrs. Martin, 88 ,of Louisville, died Tuesday, August 28, 2007, in her home.
Visitation will be held today from 8 a.m. -10 a.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Ladd, 84, of Philadelphia, died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2007, at Neshoba County Nursing Home.
Survivors include his wife, Vera Ladd; a daughter, Charlotte Johnson; a son, Larry Ladd; one sister; two brothers; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Dukes, 89, of York, died Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2007, at Rush Foundation Hospital in Meridian, Miss.
Survivors include her daughter, Minnie Williams; son, Gerald Dukes; two brothers; four sisters; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a son; a daughter; her parents and four brothers.
Visitation will be today from 6 p.m.- 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Sanders, 31, of Bailey, died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2007, in Meridian. He attended Church of the Way.

JACKSON — Services for Dr. William Michael Vise will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Meridian with the Revs. Dr. Rhett Payne III and Richard M. Vise Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery. Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Dr. Vise, 63, of Jackson, died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2007, at St. Dominic Memorial Hospital in Jackson.
A native of Meridian, Dr. Vise was the son of the late Dr. and Mrs. Guy T. Vise, Sr.
He was graduated from Meridian High School with highest honors and attended Tulane University where he received a bachelor of arts degree. While in Meridian he attained the rank of Eagle Scout and was Master Counselor of De Molay. He went to Tulane on a full Southeastern Conference scholarship in football, starting on both offense and defense. While at Tulane, Dr. Vise also served as vice president of the Student Body, president of Kappa Alpha fraternity and was awarded a membership in ODK Honorary Society.
Dr. Vise attended medical school at the University of Mississippi Medical Center followed by an internship in surgery at the University of Virginia Hospital. His neurosurgical residency was at Ohio State University Hospital where he was later Assistant Professor of Neurological Surgery. He was the recipient of numerous awards including the Van Wagenen Traveling Fellowship award in 1974 by the American Association of Neurological Surgeons. He was a research fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Brain Research, Cologne, Germany for one year. He was the recipient of the Edward H. Ellison Memorial Award presented by the Department of Surgery, Ohio State University, for all combined surgical subspecialities. He received the first place award for Original Research Scientific Exhibits from the Ohio State Medical Association. His research included being the inventor of “Electrosurgical Glove” which was patented in 1974. He was the author of 30 scientific published papers and presented over a 100 other scientific papers and exhibits.
Dr. Vise served as Neurological Rehabilitation Director in Spinal Cord Injury at Mississippi Methodist Rehabilitation Center in Jackson. He was the neurosurgeon on the American-Soviet Scientific Exchange team in 1976 working in Moscow, Kiev and Leningrad. His professional organizations include the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, Congress of Neurological Surgeons, Mississippi Neurosurgical Society, American Medical Association, Southern Medical Association, Mississippi State Medical Association and Central Mississippi Medical Society.
After completing his medical training he moved to Jackson in 1977 and made his home there. In 1989 he married Annette Fortman and they had two daughters. Dr. Vise wrote poetry some of which are published, wrote music and also played by ear, was intensely interested in art of many forms, designed and built speed boats one for which he won third place in the Miami boat show. He drew detailed plans for his home and medical office and directed construction with his sub-contractors. He was involved in numerous activities with his daughters and enjoyed annual family reunions every summer where he shared his passion for windsurfing and sailing with his many nephews and nieces.
Survivors include his daughters, Rachel Annette Vise and Mailande Alexandra Vise; brothers, Guy T. Vise Jr. and his wife, Margaret, of Jackson, Murray Vise of Atlanta, Dr. Richard Vise and his wife, Betty, of Meridian; a sister, Mailande Vise Turner of Pensacola, Fla.; nieces and nephews, Dr. Guy T. Vise III, James Wilbourn Vise and his wife, Heather, of Jackson, Francis Marion Turner IV and his wife, Kimberly, of Arlington, Va., Murray Vise Turner and his wife, Paula, of Pensacola, Martin Montgomery Turner and his wife, Bidney, of Collierville, Tenn., Richard Martin Vise Jr. and his wife, Amy, of Auburn, Ala., Duncan Brookshire Vise and his wife, Grace, of Houston, Texas, Mailande Elizabeth Vise of Birmingham, Ala., and Rachel Adelle Vise Adams and her husband, Bailey, of Jackson.
Pallbearers will be his nephews and nephews-in-law.

Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.- 7 p.m. at the funeral home in Madison and Friday from 9:30 a.m.- until 11 a.m. at the church in Meridian.

Services for Jessie M. McWilliams will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at E.E. McDonald Community Chapel in Meridian with the Rev. Van C. Williams officiating. Burial will be in New Hope Blackwater Church Cemetery in Daleville.
Ms. McWilliams, 73, of Meridian, died Friday, Aug. 24, 2007, at Meridian Community Living Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents and five siblings.
Visitation will be Friday from 6 p.m.- 7 p.m. at the community chapel in Meridian.
Carvol Eaves
LOUISVILLE — Services were held for Carvol Eaves were held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Porter Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. David Keen and Grady Crowell officiating. Burial was in Murphy Creek Cemetery.
Mr. Eaves ,70, died Sunday, August 26th, 2007, at Jeff Anderson Memorial Hospital in Meridian. He was a dairy farmer and a member of Bethel Baptist Church. He was born March 13, 1937, in Winston County.
Survivors include his daughters, Wanda Barrett of Bailey, and Janet Hemphill and Diana Demboski, both of Louisville; a son, Doug Eaves of Louisville; sisters, Carolyn Mayo and Sharon Rodgers, both of Louisville, and Nadean Miles of Brandon; eight grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
