Coroner: Murders, suicide in Lee Count deaths

TUPELO, Miss. —

Lee County Coroner Carolyn Green says an autopsy shows Danica McCord and her daughter Destiny McCord were homicide victims and that Wiley Young shot himself.

Green says the autopsy showed Young died from a gunshot wound to his mouth. He says both McCords had fatal gunshot wounds to the head.

All three were found Tuesday in the home they shared on a county road in the Macedonia community.

Sheriff Jim Johnson says investigators recovered a .45 caliber handgun at the scene of the shooting.

The bodies were discovered by a family member.

Johnson tells the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal that he'll look at the autopsy report and see how it compares to crime scene evidence before closing the investigation.
