More than 20 arrested in Hancock drug bust

BAY ST. LOUIS, Miss. —

An undercover investigation dubbed Operation May Day has resulted in Hancock County narcotics agents identifying 29 drugs suspects, with 23 of the those suspects taken into custody.

Jeremy Skinner, commander of the sheriff's office narcotics division, tells The Sun Herald authorities hit the streets before dawn Wednesday, armed with search warrants and spreading out throughout the county to arrest the suspects.

Skinner said all but three of the suspects were adults.

Authorities say two of the three juveniles and one adult arrested are students at Hancock County High School.

Those taken into custody are accused in either the sale, transfer or possession of controlled substances.
