Amber Alert issued for missing child

JACKSON — JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — Authorities have issued an Amber Alert for a Kemper County girl who was taken from her elementary school on Tuesday afternoon.

Police tell WLBT TV (http://bit.ly/159wkWE ) that they are searching for 6-year-old Jashayla Hopson.

Authorities say Hopson was last seen at East Kemper Elementary School in Scooba around noon Tuesday, when she left with an unidentified woman.

Hopson's family discovered she was missing when she did not get off the school bus.

Officials say the woman who took Jashayla is described as a black or possibly Hispanic female with tattoos of stars on one foot, and a butterfly tattoo on the opposite leg.

Authorities say they may be in a gray, medium-sized car with four doors.
