VA, National Guard join in book announcement

JACKSON, Miss. — Officials with the Mississippi National Guard and G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery VA Medical Center are announcing Wednesday the distribution of a 60th Anniversary book of the Korean War.

Officials say the 175-page full-color book will be available through local Veterans of Foreign Wars organizations, American Legion posts and Jackson VA Voluntary Service office.

Officials say the book was produced with the cooperation of the United States and the Republic of Korea.

The book is entitled "Korea Reborn: A Grateful Nation Honors War Veterans for 60 Years of Growth."

The book will be provided at no cost to all Korean War Veterans or their family members.

Officials say the 2,347 books will be distributed first to living Mississippi Korean veterans and then any others that are interested.
