Horn Lake police investigate death

HORN LAKE, Miss. — Horn Lake police are investigating a homicide in the city.

Chief Darryl Whaley told The Commercial Appeal that officers were called Tuesday afternoon to a scene where the body of a man had been discovered.

WREG TV reports that 29-year-old Edroy James Ballard, Jr., was found shot to death in front of a home

Police say it is the second killing of the year in the city. The first was the child abuse case of an 11-year-old boy found dead in his home early this year.
