DeSoto Co. father surrenders; daughter safe

WALLS — WALLS, Miss. (AP) — A domestic violence incident at an apartment complex in Walls ended with the suspect turning himself in to police and his toddler daughter safe.

Walls Police Chief Reginald Harris tells The Commercial Appeal ( ) police received a call shortly before 10 a.m. Sunday from a woman who reported that her husband had barricaded himself and their daughter inside their apartment.

After a few hours, authorities said the husband, who was never barricaded in the apartment, turned himself in to officers on the scene along with his 2-year-old daughter.

Cassidy Thomas was charged with domestic violence.

It was unclear whether he has an attorney.
