Mississippi Forge locating in Ackerman, Miss.

ACKERMAN —

ACKERMAN, Miss. (AP) — Mississippi Forge, a manufacturer of pipe fittings, will locate a plant in Ackerman in North Mississippi.

The company announced Wednesday that the $9 million corporate investment will create 60 new jobs over three years.

Mississippi Forge is locating in the facility formerly occupied by Ackerman Forge. The same facility once housed Taylor Forge, which operated in 1960's before becoming Trinity Industries in 1980's. Trinity Industries manufactured flanges for the global marketplace.

The Mississippi Development Authority provided assistance in support of the project to help transport equipment to the facility.

Mississippi Forge is wholly owned and managed by Jigar Kadakia, current CEO of Britex Engineering. The company has a similar forging plant located in India that produces stainless steel flanges.
