Hattiesburg Police Dept. earns accreditation

HATTIESBURG, Miss. —  

HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) — The Hattiesburg Police Department has been awarded accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement.

The Commission an international body comprised of subject matter experts and professionals from the International Association of Chiefs of Police, National Sheriff's Association, National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives and Performance Research Forum.

The Hattiesburg American reports (http://hatne.ws/11z6kj2 ) that this is the sixth time the Hattiesburg department has earned accreditation from the commission. The department has been accredited since 1998.

The accreditation program requires agencies to comply with standards in policy and procedure, administration, operations, and support services.
