Surplus sale set Saturday in Union County

NEW ALBANY — NEW ALBANY, Miss. (AP) — Guns, vehicles and heavy equipment such as bulldozers will be up for sale Saturday as Union County seeks to dispose of surplus equipment.

WTVA-TV reports ( ) the County Board of Supervisors along with the Sheriff's Department and local fire departments are providing the merchandise.

The sheriff's department is cleaning out weapons seized over the years during drug busts and other cases.

There will also be vehicles seized during crimes.

Old fire trucks and other firefighting equipment will be offered, too.

Money collected from the sales will go to the county.

The sale begins at 9 a.m. at the Union County Fairgrounds in New Albany.
