2 men killed in crash south of Natchez

NATCHEZ, Miss. —

Authorities say 2 men died in a two-vehicle crash south of Natchez.
 
The accident happened Tuesday afternoon at the intersection of U.S. Highway 61 and Douglas Road.
 
The Mississippi Highway Patrol says 44-year-old Walter Havard and 38-year-old Timothy Collier, both of Natchez, died when the truck Havard was driving attempted to turn on to Douglas Road and was hit by another truck.
 
Adams County Coroner James Lee tells The Natchez Democrat Collier was pronounced dead at the scene and Havard died on the way to a local hospital.
 
The driver of the second truck and two passengers were not injured.
 
The accident remains under investigation.
