MOSS POINT, Miss. — Moss Point police are investigating the stabbing death of a man whose body was found outside a home Wednesday morning
Police Chief Keith Davis tells The Sun Herald (http://bit.ly/1cJnHD8 ) the victim's name is not being released.
Donald Richardson, who lives in the home where the body was found, said his 14-year-old daughter saw the body as she was leaving for school.
Richardson said she found the man in the flower bed and there was blood on the door where it looked like the man tried to ring the doorbell. Blood also covered the concrete slab outside the front door.
"That's sad," Richardson said. "He was seconds away from help."
"The homeowner said he came outside and saw the body laying there," Davis said.
Richardson said his mother left for work at 3:45 a.m. and the man was not outside. Richardson works second shift at Ingalls Shipbuilding and was still in bed at 6:45 a.m. when his daughter woke him.
He said his daughter was scared, but didn't seem too shocked at first. But when Richardson's mother went to school to check on her, his daughter was crying and said she didn't want to come home.
