Seventh arrest in Vicksburg slaying

VICKSBURG, Miss — A seventh person has been arrested in the shooting death of a 17-year-old Vicksburg High School student.

Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace tells the Vicksburg Post (http://bit.ly/13ii8mT ) that 18-year-old Tyler D. Jones was arrested Thursday and with murder. Six others also have been arrested in the case.

Pace says Jones was released after posting a $250,000 bond.

Authorities say KeMarvin Stamps, a freshman at Vicksburg High School, was shot in the head shortly before midnight on March 15. He died the next day at a Jackson hospital.

Pace says Stamps was standing on the road with an unidentified teen and was shot during an argument with three people in a truck. Pace says the shot was fired from the vehicle.
