Body found in church graveyard

FAYETTE, Miss. —

 

Jefferson County and state law enforcement officials are investigating the death of a 24-year-old woman whose body was discovered in the graveyard of East Mount Olive Baptist Church.
 
County Coroner Ricky McDonald tells The Natchez Democrat he responded to the church on Mississippi 552 at approximately 7:25 p.m. Wednesday.
 
McDonald declined to identify the woman or the cause of death.
 
He said the victim's body will be taken to the state crime lab, where an autopsy will be conducted and a cause of death will be determined.
