Mississippi State Fair has app

JACKSON —

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — The Mississippi State Fair now has an app for that. New this year at the fair, which opened Wednesday, is a free application that will put all the info on the 2013 event in the palm of your hand.

Agriculture Commissioner Cindy Hyde-Smith said Mississippi is the first state fair in the U.S. to have an app for both Apple and Android smartphones.

The Clarion-Ledger reports (http://on.thec-l.com/19WCCoQ ) the app includes clips of artists who will be performing, including Casting Crowns, Eric Benet, Justin Moore, Don Williams, and Morris Day and the Time, plus event listings and updates.

Billy Orr, executive director of the fair, says there's even a feature that helps you locate your car.
