Associated Press

JACKSON, Miss. —

A change of plea hearing has been scheduled for a former bank employee charged with taking money from a customer's certificate of deposit and taking out a loan in the person's name.

The indictment in the case says Kelly Taplin, a Trustmark National Bank employee in Hinds County, made the transactions between and June and December of 2011.

Federal authorities are seeking the forfeiture of more than $19,000.

Taplin had pleaded not guilty. The change of plea hearing is set to take place in U.S. District Court in Jackson on April 8.
