15 years for man who pulled gun on FBI agent

OLIVE BRANCH, Miss. — An Olive Branch man has been sentenced to 15 years in federal prison for pulling a gun on occupants of a car — including an FBI agent.

The Commercial Appeal (http://bit.ly/161odti) reports that 38-year-old Eugene Bernardini already had a criminal record last November when he bumped another vehicle and then pulled a gun on the occupants after they turned into a parking lot.

Authorities said FBI Special Agent Thomas Barlow was among those in the car. He disarmed Bernardini. But, Barlow pulled a knife and escaped in his car.

He was arrested later that evening in Olive Branch. Court records show he pleaded guilty Aug. 30 to being a felon in possession of a firearm and was sentenced to 15 years.
