Yazoo Co High senior killed in crash

YAZOO CITY, Miss. — A Yazoo County High School senior was killed in a fiery crash after his pickup truck left the road.

Yazoo County Coroner Ricky Shivers identified the victim in Monday's accident as 18-year-old David Edwards. The accident happened around 9 a.m.

Shivers said the truck left the road, hit a tree and ended up in a pasture. The truck caught fire and burned in the accident.

Edwards was pronounced dead at the scene. Police officers and teachers said Edwards was an honors student at Yazoo County High.
