$1M bond set in Byhalia slaying

HOLLY SPRINGS, Miss. — A 42-year-old Byhalia man has been charged with murder in a slaying in Marshall County.

Sheriff's Office spokesman Jimmy Warren says bond has been set at $1 million for Danny Ray Lyles. Warren says Lyles is charged in the Monday's shooting death of 56-year-old Robert Barnes.

Lyles is also charged with one count of aggravated assault against another individual who was driving a 1997 Chevrolet Tahoe. Warren says the Tahoe was hit by multiple gunshots.

Lyles is being held in the county jail.
