2 killed in five-car pileup in Moss Point

MOSS POINT, Miss. — Two people died in a five-car accident on Interstate 10 in Mississippi.

Jackson County Coroner Vicki Broadus identified victims as 27-year-old Ashley Bowens, of Gautier, and 21-year-old Antraun Davis, of Alabama.

Moss Point Police Chief Keith Davis tells The Sun Herald (http://bit.ly/1bx1jc7) the five-car accident on I-10 eastbound near exit 68 occurred about 5:45 a.m. Saturday.

Davis said indications are one vehicle hydroplaned and hit another vehicle, which caused a chain reaction.

Davis said both Bowens and Davis, who were driving the two initial vehicles, were hit while they were outside of their vehicles.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol assisted Moss Point police with the accident, which remains under investigation.
