JACKSON, Miss. — Federal court records say a man has pleaded guilty in a case in which he and a woman were charged with conspiring to launder drug proceeds, money laundering and evasion of tax reporting requirements.
The indictment says Lornell Von Moore of Louin and Patrina Bester Hayes of Paulding used drug money to buy cars, tractor trucks and motorcycles and to make improvements to real estate.
Moore pleaded guilty Thursday in U.S. District Court in Jackson.
Moore owned LVM Trucking. The indictment says Hayes and Moore took in about $992,000 from the trucking company from Jan. 1, 2008, to December 31, 2009. They allegedly deposited more than $1.7 million in their bank accounts over the same period.
Hayes is set for trial in January.
