Old fashioned cane syrup being made today

    The Herrington Syrup Mill will be in operation all day today beginning about sunrise with the first batch of cane syrup expected to be ready about 10 a.m. The mill is located at 10740 Road 511 near Union. From Meridian travel north on Highway 19 to the House community. Turn left on Highway 492 toward Union. Go about 2 miles and turn right on Road 511. The mill will be about half a mile on the left. Syrup will be available for tasting and purchase, as well as a biscuit with sausage or bacon for those who come early. For more information call (601) 678-9962 or (601) 678-1366.
