MERIDIAN —     Two early morning robberies Friday have police searching for two men.

Meridian Police Department Capt. Dean Harper, commander of the department's Criminal Investigation Division, said detectives believe the same pair of men are responsible for two robberies that occurred at two separate Meridian convenience stores.

The first robbery occurred at about 2:45 a.m. when two armed black men with their faces concealed and wearing dark colored hoodies entered the Cefco Convenience Store located on Highway 19 North, police reported.

The clerk saw the men coming into the store and ran into a room where she locked the door. Harper said the two men fled without getting any money. The clerk wasn't harmed.

Later Friday morning, at about 6:20 a.m., two armed black men with their faces covered, who were dressed in the same type clothing as in the earlier robbery, entered the Shell Convenience store on North Hills Street. Harper said the two men made off with an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspects are said to have fled the scene in a small dark green truck. The clerk was not hurt in the incident.
