This log truck accident on Highway 45 north of Marion closed off traffic for two hours as crews worked to remove the logs and wreckage from the roadway. The driver of the log truck suffered some bumps and bruises but no serious injuries. According to authorities on the scene, the truck was traveling southbound at about 11 a.m. when the rear tandem axle broke loose causing the rig to overturn. Lauderdale County Emergency Management Agency personnel were on hand to spread absorbents across the roadway to soak up oil, hydraulic fluid and fuel that leaked during the incident.
