Meridian police continue to investigate a late Saturday shooting that left a 21-year-old man dead, but officials had no additional details to share Monday.
"There is nothing else on the murder," Lt. Dean L. Harper said.
Terrianda Collins was standing outside a house in the 2100 block of 15th Avenue at 10:18 p.m. Saturday when he was shot and killed, according to a release from the Meridian Police Department.
Collins was shot multiple times and was observed laying on the ground, according to the release.
The victim was transported to Rush Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Collins' body was transported to Jackson for an autopsy, said Lauderdale County Coroner Clayton Cobler.
Cobler also had no additional details Monday.
Collins' grandmother, Marie Collins, said Sunday that her grandson tried to take refuge behind a black Dodge Neon when his attackers began firing at him. The car was riddled with more than a dozen bullet holes, with two tires and the back window blown out from the gunfire.
