Christy's Annual Cultural Arts & Crafts Event takes place Saturday in Stonewall in Clarke County.
This is the second year for the event, centered around the Old Mill Park, 310 South Erwin Road, and Christy's Fine Foods & Catering.
The bulk of the events are scheduled for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with additional music slated for 6-8 p.m., including an appearance by The Miracles from the Baddour Center in Senatobia.
Also Saturday in Stonewall the 7th annual Come Home To Stonewall Day will be sponsored by the Stonewall Historical Society beginning at 10 a.m. at the Stonewall ball field with various vendors, entertainment and yard sales scheduled.
Carol Williams, one of the organizers for the cultural arts and crafts event, was working Thursday on arranging a wagon that she hopes will be able to provide rides from one event to the other.
Concerning Christy's Annual Cultural Arts & Crafts Event Williams said: "I call it a 'make a family memory' event. The premise is to draw the community together and build the community as a whole."
The arts and crafts event focuses on benefiting several nonprofit causes. Children's activities also will be on display, as well as more than 30 vendors with arts and crafts for sale.
Williams said the Stonewall Fire Department and an air ambulance service will be set up during the day with simulations to show young people the dangers of texting and driving. She said she's worked on getting extra credit for participating students who attend school in Quitman and Enterprise.
Various musical acts are lined up to perform throughout the day and evening and there will be chances available to win several kinds of gift certificates and prizes.
The Stonewall-Enterprise Relay For Life kickoff will be held as part of the day's activities, with balloons that will be sold and released sometime before dark on Saturday.
Money raised will be pooled together with the Quitman Relay For Life campaign Williams said.
