Local girls compete for state Miss Hospitality title

MERIDIAN —     Meridian's Miss Hospitality Hailey Thomas and Lauderdale County's Miss Hospitality Alyssa Griffin are among those competing for the title of Mississippi's Miss Hospitality.

    The winner will be announced on stage at the historic Saenger Theater in Hattiesburg on Saturday.

    Thomas, 20, the daughter of Roy and Melissa Thomas, is a 2011 graduate of Clarkdale Attendance Center where she was Salutatorian, and a 2013 graduate of Meridian Community College.

    Griffin, 18, the daughter of Tricia Driggers and Jason Griffin, is a 2013 graduate of West Lauderdale High School.

    Contestants are competing for more than $100,000 in scholarships and prizes. The mission of the Mississippi Miss Hospitality Pageant is identify, honor, and utilize young ladies between the ages of 18 and 24 for the purpose of promoting Mississippi's tourism, industry, and economic development by serving as Mississippi's Goodwill Ambassador, according to a press release.
