Police search for robbery suspect

MERIDIAN —     Meridian police are searching for a man they believe held up a Meridian convenience store early Tuesday morning.

    MPD Capt. Dean Harper, commander of the department's Criminal Investigation Division, said the suspect made off with an undetermined amount of cash in the incident. The clerk was unhurt.

    Harper said at about 2:30 a.m. Tuesday, the man, described as black, standing about 5 foot, 3 inches tall and weighing 110 to 120 pounds, walked into the Shell Convenience Store location 22nd Avenue South and pulled a firearm on the clerk. The suspect demanded the money from the cash register and the clerk complied. The suspect fled on foot.
