Editor's note: Absentee ballots were not counted as of press time Tuesday night and are not reflected in the vote totals.



In Ward 1 for city council, incumbent Republican George M. Thomas is unopposed in the party primary. He will meet Democrat Martin M. Jack in the general election in June. Jack is unopposed in the Democratic primary.



In Ward 3 city council, Republican Barbara Henson is unopposed.



Independent candidates for mayor and city council are not running in the primaries. Their names will be listed in the general election.
