Two arrested and charged for marijuana production

MERIDIAN —     Two Lauderdale County people were arrested Tuesday and charged in connection with the production and/or growing of marijuana.

    According to Ward Calhoun, chief deputy for the Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department, Traci Bryant Freeman, 24, of 3089 Meehan Suqualena Road, and Sean Martin Hogan, 25, of 3125 Meehan Suqualena Road, were arrested in connection with the case that was investigated by agents of the East Mississippi Drug Task Force.

    "Agents with the EMDTF here received a tip from authorities in Jackson concerning the possible production of marijuana at a specific location out in the county," said Calhoun. "Agents executed a search warrant on the location and found evidence of marijuana production."

    Freeman has been charged with possession of marijuana (more than 30 grams), possession of a controlled substance and the manufacture of marijuana. Hogan has been charged with possession of marijuana (more than 30 grams) and the manufacture of marijuana. Freeman and Hogan were placed on $5,000 bond for each of their charges.
