MPD probing two armed robberies

MERIDIAN —     Meridian Police Department detectives are searching for suspects in two armed robbery incidents reported recently.

    Capt. Dean Harper, commander of the MPD's Criminal Investigation Division, said a woman reported to police Tuesday that she was robbed Monday afternoon. The woman said as she was leaving a store on Bonita Drive at about 3:30 p.m. she was knocked down by a black man in the parking lot. The victim said the suspect, wearing a black hoodie, pointed a gun at her and took her personal belongings. The victim stated to police the man then fled on foot.

    Early Wednesday morning another armed robbery, this time in the parking lot of a restaurant, was reported.

    At about 3 a.m. a man claimed to have been robbed while standing in the parking lot an unspecified fast food restaurant located on North Frontage Road. The suspect, a black man, was dressed in a black hoodie according to the victim.

    The victim told police the suspect displayed a handgun and robbed the victim of his property. The suspect then fled on foot, the victim told police.
